We care…Tips for avoiding genetically engineered foods…Start by looking at the PLU code. Fruit that has been genetically modified will have a PLU code with five numbers that begin with the number 8. Organically grown fruit PLUs have five numbers beginning with 9. Non-GMO, conventionally grown fruit PLUs have only four numbers.
